Maplewood Reformed Church, as a member of the Holland Classis of the Reformed Church in America, is led by a Consistory. The Consistory is made up of ministers, elders, and deacons, who together govern the life and ministry of the church. Visit the RCA website to learn more about what a consistory is and how it functions.

Rev. Dr. James Ellis III

Ordained in the Baptist tradition, Pastor Ellis has degrees from nearby Western Theological Seminary, Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, Baylor University’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary, and the University of Maryland. He was born in Japan and has lived in Texas, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Canada (just north of Seattle), Georgia, Maryland, and Washington, DC. And several years ago he called Holland home, so returning recently and readjusting has felt rather easy. He has a doctorate and two master's degrees in theology, as well as a bachelor's degree in African American Studies from the University of Maryland. When not working on writing projects (he has authored three books), Pastor Ellis is usually at the gym, napping, practicing his hobby of photography, or taking his wife to get ice cream.

You can reach Pastor James at james@maplewoodrca.org.
